Homecoming – November 23

Posted on: November 21st, 2014

Rev GogginsHomecoming will be observed on Sunday, November 23 at 10:15 a.m. (one
service). This year’s theme is “Our Faith, Our Family, Our Future.”
Homecoming serves as good opportunity to invite former members, especially
persons who grew up in Metropolitan to come back home and see the great
things that are happening at Metropolitan.  Please invite family, friends,
co-workers and others to join us for worship.

The preacher for Homecoming will be Rev. Etoria V. Goggins, Pastor of Mt.
Zion A.M.E. Church of Severn, MD.  Rev. Goggins, a native of Nashville,
Tennessee, holds a B.S. in Business Education from Middle Tennessee State
University and a Master of Divinity from the Howard University School of
Divinity.  She has also studied at Wesley Theological Seminary.  Currently,
she is teaching in the Prince George’s County Public School System.  She was
appointed Pastor of Mt. Zion in April 2005. Within the first year of her
appointment, God blessed Mt. Zion to move into a new church facility.  She
has served in a variety of leadership positions within the AME Church,
including as the “Women in Ministry” Caucus Leader for the Capital District
in the Washington Conference and President of the AME Ministerial Alliance
in Washington D.C. and Vicinity. She is a member of Alpha Kappa Alpha
Sorority, Inc.

Church School will be held at 8:45 a.m.
