Metropolitan Pastors Honored at Martin Luther King, Jr. Restore Together Prayer Breakfast

logoRestore Together is a digital community that calls for the collaboration of the church and the world for beneficial social change. The group’s Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Prayer Breakfast is an annual event that honors change agents such as last year’s honorees Congressman John Lewis and Dr. William B. McClain, both of whom walked with Dr. King.

This year’s honorees include Metropolitan AME’s own senior pastor Rev. Dr. Ronald E. Braxton and Rev. Dr. Marie Phillips Braxton, assistant pastor, for their leadership in the church, local and global communities. Restore Together will also honor Metropolitan Steward Ms. Dorothy Gilliam, the first African-American female journalist at The Washington Post Joshua DuBois, former head of the Office of Faith Based and Neighborhood Partnerships in the Executive Office of the President of the United States, and Congressman Elijah Cummings, U.S. Representative for Maryland’s 7th Congressional District.

In addition, performing at this year’s Breakfast will be Traces of Blue,formerly Afro Blue of “The Sing Off on NBC,” and the Jazz Psalmist and Stellar Award Nominated, Todd Ledbetter.
