On Sunday, July 21, Metropolitan AME Church will celebrate its’ 175th Anniversary in a very special Worship Service at 10:00 am.  The guest preacher will by Bishop Samuel Green, the Presiding Prelate of the 12th Episcopal District (states of Arkansas and Oklahoma) of the African Methodist Episcopal Church.

The church will be decorated with African textiles and members and guests are asked to wear African attire on this Sunday.  Each member is asked to bring a guest to the service if possible.  The Anniversary theme is:  “On the Solid Rock:  We Stand. We Serve.”

Following the Worship Service,  all are invited to an Anniversary Reception in the atrium of the NEA Building, directly across the street from the church.  The reception will feature a vending area in which Metropolitan AME Church members will have their products and service available.  The musical guests for the reception will be Saleem Wayne Waters, noted composer, arranger and instrumentalist.  We have planned an exciting Anniversary celebration and all are invited.
