2013 March & Call to Action: Stop the Pipeline to Prison!

Posted on: March 21st, 2013

Blacks and Latinos make up 60% of those incarcerated though only 30% of the US population.Join historic Metropolitan A.M.E. Church — and 2000 supporters, leaders, youth and clergy — for a Good Friday Silent March and Call to Action to Stop the Pipeline to Prison and End Gun Violence, on Friday – March 29th at 1:00pm.

Marchers will gather at Metropolitan A.M.E. Church and walk to Freedom Plaza, on Pennsylvania Avenue, N.W.

Community, business and elected leaders, along with youth and clergy, will discuss the ongoing negative effects of the overrepresentation of African Americans  in America’s prison system and the pain that guns have caused in the lives of our people.

Alternative solutions will be offered — to begin to end these plagues that continue to devastate our communities — and our nation.

The time for Action is NOW!
