A major new, year-long quest for richer, more bountiful living through spiritual growth and discipleship called the “Abundant Living Institute” will begin at Metropolitan AME Church on Thursday, February 21 at 7p.m.

The Institute is a series of monthly workshops geared to exploring and studying the basic principles of AME church history, faith and life as a church and congregation. The workshops will offer interactive opportunities for participants to become educated on subjects such as the merits of membership, fellowship, stewardship, and our relationship with God. The emphasis will be on hearing and understanding the word of God, and answering the call to live by God’s word.

The inaugural workshop, led by Rev. Dr. Ronald E. Braxton, senior pastor, is entitled, “Our History and What We Believe.” It will include the beginning and early days of Methodism, the early life of Richard Allen and the march out of St. George’s Methodist Church, the Free African Society and the beginning of a New Church. It will also include “What We Believe and “We are All ‘sinners’”.

All classes are scheduled from 7 – 8:30 pm, and enrollment for the year is $30 per participant which covers the cost of materials which will be distributed to each person.
